Hopefully the OP doesn’t view these incredibly rude and unnecessary posts as the type of welcome they’ll have in South FL.

ruski did you move back to Weston?

OP, how old are you? Twenties and thirties and I'd say a big yes to Flagler Village. Older and I would suggest Las Olas/downtown Fort Lauderdale. Also, a biggie, what is your budget? Both places are expensive.

We moved to Sunrise by BB&T, there was a very good deal on a new construction townhouse in Artesia.

Hi all and thank you for all the responses. Well, almost all of the responses.

I did not respond to anything in order to see if things panned out as I hoped. They did. I'll be taking a new job in Hollywood, FL in February so I'm not sure Flagler Village is the best option. I prefer to avoid any sort of commute. So, I think Hollywood and North Miami might be better options than Flagler Village, although still considering Fort Lauderdale. It just seems that in Fort Lauderdale, renting is more expensive.

My current plan is to drive down from Baltimore 10 days before my first day at work. I'll stay with a friend who lives in Boca Raton. Ten days should give me enough time to find a place I like that is reasonably close to where I work and hopefully a dive bar or two. There's an apartment complex really close to where I'll be working called EnV that seems like it would be fine for at least the first year, at least based on looking at the online information. I'd really like to find somewhere closer to the Hollywood Beach/Young Circle area though. So, any advice on Hollywood would be appreciated.

Not for nuthin, but a place in South Florida with a name like "EnV" makes me think "strip club" rather than an apartment complex. Just sayin...

I would avoid North Miami and stick with Hollywood.

North Miami traffic is insane.

The newest ones always have a leg up on the older ones in terms of the design of the apartments, level of amenities, etc. For example the newer Pearl Flagler Village has pool cabanas with mini-fridges and flat screen TVs, and Peloton bikes in the gym. The older The Manor at Flagler Village and The Edge don't have this. Nonetheless, the pool at The Manor is still awesome.

The newest buildings are:

EON
Pearl
The Whitney

Newer:
The Manor
ORA
The Edge

The oldest are:
AMLI (had a recent renovation)
Solmar on Sixth (had a recent renovation)
How current is this list? Has anything changed or should I still be looking at the top 3 here?

Thanks
