I am looking to move to Ft. Lauderdale area within the next two months and was wondering if anyone had any advice regarding apartments in the area. I'm looking for a 1 br/1 ba, under a $1,000 per month.

Thanks!

Ok.....and his gender mattered why?

OP what specifically do you want to know regarding renting in FT. Lauderdale? Just based on what you posted, I can tell you that you will find a decent place for that price if you rent alone and a nice place if your willing to have a roomie.

You need to give us more information. What is your purpose for moving here? Work? Retirement? What are your interests? Do you want/need to live near the beach? Do you need to be around entertainment? Otherwise, your post is too vague.

For $1000, you'll be limited in Fort Lauderdale. You may find more options in some of the suburbs. Your $1000 will not include utilities or cable/internet. IF you look in some of the western suburbs in Broward County, you may find decent rental communities with full amenities for $900/mo. If you are hellbent on living east near the water, you'll most likely have to settle for an efficiency or something without washer/dryer. It just depends on your needs and wants.

Yeah I figured that's why it was asked. You see that crap on CG all the time.

Realtor.com is a good one because the site tends to be more regulated than others.

Zillow is a big one and they own Trulia and Hotpads, so it's often the same listings.

You’re not getting any 1/1 in South Florida, not in this economy, unless it is government subsidized, in a very bad area, or both, for $1,000 a month.

Yes, I realize OP is from 2014, it was only slightly less awful black then.

For buying/selling. If looking at rental apartments, apartments.com tends to be best.
