First thought was chili, see that it's a popular item in cold weather.

Others that came to mind after a bit of thinking...

Swedish meatballs with buttered noodles.
Ruben sandwich (grilled and served hot, of course), with a side of home fries.
Boston clam chowder soup, better if it's in a sourdough bowl, a la San Francisco.
Western with cheese omelet, warm fresh hash browns on the side.

Oh it’s cold here in Maine I like the traditional comfort foods.
Chicken roasters, turkey, pork roast, corn, beef stew…
Hams, also try to fire up the grill and cook some steaks and spareribs.

And I have a woodstove in the living room to keep it, warm and cozy

Nearly a week without power, and the 100mph winds have subsided to 80mph and freezing rain. Ice encapsulated house no longer has wind infiltration, but the thaw is wicked (need submarine quality home, or it will leak everywhere.

Cooking... = Campstove. Soups are easiest. Have plenty of Frozen qts of chicken soup stock (3Qts from each Costco chicken). Add egg and frozen 'stir fry' veggies from dollar tree.
That's breakfast today (and supper last night)

No grill / oven / crockpot options at the moment.

But definitely 'cold weather meal' planning.

New frig is pathetic for retaining cool w/out power. Only open 2x / day, keeping mixing bowls of snow in there, but perishable stuff is out in garage or snowdrift.

Chili, yes, but don't put sugar in your cornbread unless you're African-American. It's not supposed to be cake.

If you're Black, disregard, sweet cornbread is traditional.

Another favorite is searing and slow roasting a big Pork Butt or Beef Chuck Roast seasoned to your liking (I like LOTS of garlic, some Rosemary, Chili Flakes and Kosher Salt) cooked low/slow after charring in a dutch oven until it shreds easily with a fork. Toss with your favorite red sauce with pasta, make sub sandwiches with some melted provolone and banana peppers or served over cheesy polenta with some sauteed Broccoli Rabe if you can find it. The bigger the roast the better for leftovers and/or freezing.
