Another very rainy day......
Making a big pot of smokey creamed potato soup served with fresh baked Bauernbrot/farmer bread. For dessert a fruit salad with diced pineapple, oranges, unsweetened shredded coconut, fresh pressed orange juice and a generous shot of Cointreau.

Later by the fireplace a few rounds of Canasta and some homemade beer nuts and maple candied pecans served with a glass of red wine or beer.

One more night of foraging for me. Furries told me that they would not share their treats with me. So back to the basics - bread, cheese, wine and some whine.

We went to a Wild Fork recently and I bought some veal shanks so I made osso buco Milanese. Served over mashed Yukon gold potatoes and with steamed broccoli. It was rich but good!
