I grew up in Volusia County and as far as local attractions, I always enjoyed visiting Tomoka State Park and DeLeon Springs State Park (the pancake restaurant at DeLeon Springs was always a favorite), driving the Loop, and camping out at Tiger Bay State Forest. I went through a phase where I enjoyed stock car racing and enjoyed catching races at New Smyrna Speedway and the occasional NASCAR race in Daytona. I have fond memories of attending Daytona Cubs games with my Dad when I was a kid.

Going a little further out, St. Augustine was always fun to visit, as well as the many other springs going out towards Ocala.

It's funny, having grown up right on the beach, I never really cared for going to the beach.

Now that I live near the Gulf Coast beaches, I absolutely love going. Perdido Key is probably my favorite beach in Florida.
