I'm very seriously considering relocating to FL from Austin, TX but am very liberal and anti-trump - are there any pockets in FL that are more blue leaning?

Much thank in advance!!!

There are quite a number. FL is much like TX with most of the larger urban areas Blue and the more rural areas Red. The most liberal big city is Fort Lauderdale, followed by Tallahassee and Gainesville (home of FSU and UF respectively), and the next big city (Miami). Then I would give St Petersburg a slight edge over Orlando, followed by West Palm Beach and then Tampa. Culturally and politically you'd probably find St Pete or Orlando a better match to Austin, although in my opinion Gainesville might be the best match if you can deal with the population difference (just 135K versus 950K).

I hope FL not become too left, liberal not bad word, but think too far left bad bad thing. You want blue lean? go to California or stay in Austin, Austin not even like rest of Texas! So me too, I hope not

Generally, the more educated an area is the more Liberal the population is. Cities with major universities such as Gainesville and Tallahassee typically vote Democratic at elections. The less educated areas typically vote Republican.

This is such a ridiculous myth and totally untrue. Bigger cities tend to go Democrat because all of the poor suffering people vote Democrat, the affluent areas in these cities tend to skew Republican. Start looking at city voting maps by precinct and not as a whole. For example, in Broward, pretty much all the affluent people along the beaches vote Republican as well as many of the more affluent suburban precints.

Affluent areas tend to be more educated. People with money who have actual life experience. The only time you get educated people voting Democrat is when you are in a college town and young, impressionable college students are good targets for liberals. Strangely, as they grow older, wiser, and more experienced in life, they end up Republican.

Funny enough, head over to the precincts with horrendous schools, gangs, violence, drugs, poverty, and it's virtually 100% Democrat.

You mean homeless, SNAP and free school lunch crowds. That's almost entirely in large urban centers.

They sure do love their Democrats! And yeah, when I think of the urban gangbangers, the first thing that comes to mind is "highly educated"... Lol.

Its so regressive here in Fla. Never change. It's a sea of red here. No blue area.

As soon as i save enough money I'm moving to Cali. And even if I don't save enough money, I just go there anyway and hope it works out.
