Having lived all over Florida and also in Texas, Houston and Florida are 2 sides to the same coin. Both hot and humid. Houston is a little hotter but both are equally oppressive. If you can handle one you can handle the other.

Houton is a Gulf Coast city that is extremely humid and gets about the same amount of rainfall as Tampa, around 50 inches a year. Some areas of Southeast Texas actually get more rainfall than most of Florida.
