Well--ignoring it is not going to work and people are not ready to just give up and allow the water to continue flooding the streets. But that work costs money and fighting all the Republicans and North Florida climate change deniers just compounds the problem.

I say do it. North Florida is more like South Georgia anyway.

I just don't understand why we continue to politicize the issue. We all know human actions have a consequence, I believe in science AND I believe in God. My belief in science makes it undeniable that increased human activity is causing changes to our environment. My belief in God tells me that unless we take care of our planet that he made for us, there are going to be consequences. It works in Karma it works physics.

Thank you. Seems like common sense to me!

They're best served by being good stewards of their environment and natural resources because it's the right thing to do, and not buying into the self-serving lies of those whose claimed passions about "climate change" is based on their own interests in pocketing all that "carbon credit" money...

I'm all for it. The more localized government is, the better it can represent and serve its populace. I would argue that many states should be split. As a population grows and changes, government needs to continue to localize. The three biggest states (California, Texas, and Florida) should all split into multiple states.

And for everyone equating this with Southern states seceding in the 1860s, this really isn't the same thing. We are not talking about independence from the US (that is a separate issue that also deserves discussion). We are talking about new state governments that can better serve their diverse populations. Let me remind the naysayers that it was the Northern government that decided to create West Virginia out of Virginia in 1863, not the Confederacy.

West Virginia was created if I recall correctly because they felt their needs were being ignored and they did not have proper representation . Do you think things have been better for them since the split? I know they are a poor state anyhow.

Yes how can anyone deny that pollution has consequences ? I do feel frustrated that some in Florida do not care to lower our pollution levels especially with the amount of tourism we have . It makes sense to have a clean pollution free state for people to visit.

If South Florida was to become the 51st state, how would we arrange the stars on the American Flag?

How can anyone not want to have a clean environment to leave to their children and grandchildren? I just don't get it. Who would not want to have clean air and clean water ?
