I'm sorry but I have alot of my Puerto Rican friends in Central Florida who would find this respponse offensive. There are MANY middle to upper middle class Puerto Ricans in CFL, but as others have pointed out they are not the majority of Puerto Ricans in the area. At the same time, the PR community here is very large and contributes heavily to community. To imply that they are not successful here is just not accurate.

Orlando is spread out, accordingly, so is the Hispanic population. Orlando didn't develop like Miami did with ethnic enclaves, that happened after the boom did. So what you essentially ended up with was people moving to wherever the new hot housing spot was as opposed to the where the ethnic spot was. That being said places like Hunter Creek and East Orlando are still great places to live with good amount of Hispanic influence.

Avalon park is best for Puerto rican here in in Orlando, we move here from south florida. It is nice and very luxury community with lots of Spanish and Puerto Rican, there is even nice restaurants here that serve good mofongo! I rent a house right now but will buy soon, very reasonable home prices here.
