I prefer to wear my pants with braces, which button-on to the inside of the waistband, for clip-on ones don't seem quite right. And I'm so keen on using them that I'd like to get some for my wife now. But though suspenders are available in places such as The Suspender Store, and in a variety of materials, designs, lengths and widths, some of which would be feminine, it seems that the waistband in women's skirts or trousers tends not to be made sturdy enough for for the three pairs of requisite buttons to be sewn-on through them. And so I've come to see if anyone here has a solution to this. For I do know that they can look sweet on girls

Denim, jeans are sturdy enough. That includes skirts.

But not according to companies such as L L Bean, which will attach such buttons for men: and, for an affordable fee. You see, they just will not do that for women
And I have tried to get them to

Suspenders and breasts are not friends. They are not flattering on most women with a chest.

I'm sure there are ways of getting around ample breasts. For example, the front-button pairs can be set more to the side than for men's pants
And I'm convinced it would be worth the effort. I fancy that narrow plain-leather braces would be fitting

Does you wife actually want to wear these, or do you just want her to?

Though that's a personal question, I don't mind saying that we have discussed it. And she is keen on trying them out
As far as I'm concerned, suspenders on a women can look better than on a man

I'm sorry if I offended you. The reason I ask is that if she doesn't like them or want to wear them, it may not be worth the worry of trying to get them for her.

I know when I was a teenager I wore them, but as an adult, I don't think I would.

And I'm sure that they looked good on you – perhaps you could don them again
But your question didn't offend me
