THe dog was out in the yard yesterday as i went shopping. He can get in and out of my garage via the door. Its a 1 car garage with another 2 car attached so there is a window between. I guess he got stuck in the 1 car and got scared and jumped through the glass. When i got hime there was a shattered pain on the ground and he had blood all over his forehead. The gash is only a 1/4 in wide but all the way to the skull. He dosent act like hes hurt or anything. Guess ill have to knock that window out and just board it up.
I hear ya, one of the traits of the Staff breed is to not show pain, hence why i have to take it to the vets regularly so he can have a feel for abnormalties or whatever vets do! Ill let you know.

if you are gone a short time keep the dog in. get a glass that the dog can not break plastic. my 2 get stressed also.
There's calming medication you can keep on hand to give them when you know a storm is forecast. It works to take the edge off and relax them. My sister's dog goes absoluely crazy in a thunderstorm and the medication does help. But it has to be given about an hour before the storm.
We never had a problem with thunderstorms and dogs until we moved down to NC. Now I'm noticing our 8 year old lab gets a bit uneasy when a storm is approaching. Not nuts, just uneasy. Wants to find a corner where he can hide out. I don't know whether the pressure changes are affecting him, or the lightning storms are more "charged" here, or what. The other one, a sheltie, just wants to tell me there was another thunderclap, just in case I didn't hear it. LOL Anyone who knows shelties will understand how they just have to tell you everything that is happening.
My lab/golden gets very frantic during these NC storms. Up in Michigan she was okay just hiding her head under the bed, or she would run down to the basement, here in NC we don't have a basement and she jumps on my lap everytime a thunder clap sounds off. I feel so bad for her, but these storms in NC are a little more "loud" than in Michigan.
