It's an expensive treatment...but absolutely necessary if he's going to live. In Central Florida it's somewhere around $600.

Hi Zappa,
Cut your losses while you can and find an established, older vet. (Records can be transferred.) It'll be worth it even if you have to travel further (as we must.) Nothing against younger docs themselves here, but the inexperienced ones should be a protege under a good doctor with his own practice until they at least get some more seasoning- especially with what they're charging you here. Also, a good, established private practicing single doctor will have more normal rates as well. They can be real needles in haystacks sometimes, and appointment availability will be at more demand, but so worth it.
