Zephyr and Chaos have a new baby brother. His name is Ruckus and he is currently 14 weeks. On Sunday he will have been with us 2 weeks. He like Zephyr and Dazzle before him is a Silken Windhound. I am enjoying lure coursing with Zephyr and once Ruckus grows up, I will then have two dogs to course with. He comes from a breeder that had many top coursing Silken's out of her kennel. Chaos at 13 isn't so thrilled about a puppy but she does enjoy licking his bowl clean or finding snacks that he dropped.

I do not think his ears will be prick ears like Zephyr. I think he will have the rose ears (like whippets and greyhounds) that most owners prefer. The standard currently allows both ear types, but I know many who would like to see it changed and make the prick ears a fault. Dazzle had the rose ears and while he could make them prick up when he was interested in something they were not like Zephyrs. I myself love Zephyr's ears.
Lovely! I will guess, based on the look in his eyes, that he will be a much different personality than Zephyr and Chaos!
Yeah, he is different. I think he will have much more drive than Zephyr and he is much more demanding than either Zephyr or Chao. I am hoping he will be cuddlier than Zephyr is, so more like Dazzle was and Chaos use to be.
When I looked at his pedigree on his father's side his great, great, great, great grandfather was Dazzles father.
Zephyr's breeder had retired so he is from a different breeder and she thinks he will be on the small to medium size while Zephyr and Dazzle were on the large size for the breed. Right now he is quite the pistol but he is learning things fast and seems to want to please me.
Congratulations Dash and best wishes for the entire family! I know what you mean about wanting a cuddler. Most of our dogs over the years have been cuddlers but our newest (miniature poodle) is very stingy with her cuddles, but when she does climb up on our laps, we are in heaven! Her preference is to drape her head over our legs. When you have more than one in the house as we have always have, their personalities traits are so much fun to watch! They're all such individuals, just like people.
