Okay, it appears that I might have been wrong. I don't think my dog is pooping in the living room. I think he's bringing poop in from the backyard and eating it. Aside from trying to keep the yard as poop-free as we can, what else can we do. I have heard that adding pineapple juice or pumpkin to our dogs' food might make the poop take horrible, but I don't know if there are any drawbacks to that. Has anyone here had any experience with this problem?

Oh, right blame the cat. The cats aren't the ones eating their own shxt. That's a dog thing. I think the obvious solution is to become a cat person (an indoor cat person with a "catio")

OP isn't blaming a cat for anything. A dog could find any roaming cat's poop in the yard and bring it indoors to "enjoy" later.

Yes, there are various things you can add to a dog's food to make the byproduct less appealing. Don't have any experience with them so can't comment on how well they work. Coprophagy doesn't seem to be unusual for puppies.

Oh, I did not expect an answer.

While I appreciate your commitment, I really do not want to embark on knowing much about dogs. All I want to know is how to stay safe when someone walks up next to me with a big dog or pit bull.

Tell the owner of the dog to "keep your distance, as I still am contagious!" This should keep almost any person from sticking around.

Oh, yes, there's That!

I was terrified of dogs as a kid, when I was about 20 I figured out that it was key to Not Be Terrified because they can smell that on you. So, I go to Zen mode and that's overkill because then they like me
