My rule pf thumb for the car is if I leave an unwrapped chocolate bar on the dashboard and it might melt and make a mess, it is too hot to leave the dog in the car ... in the imagination only, because one would not leave the dog in the car unattended with a bar of chocolate. if you would not risk leaving that bar of chocolate on the dashboard do not leave your dog in the car.
