It’s time to replace the term “dog owner”.

Dogs are not simply a possession; they are joyous key parts of our families.

What do you suggest as a replacement of the term “dog owner”?

“A dog’s person”?

A “dog caregiver”?

A “dog parent”?

Something else?

"Dog owner" is just fine by me. Legally, the dog is a possession, although you are welcome to make it a joyous part of your family and call yourself anything you want to call yourself.

Dog owner works.

Or Canis lupus familiaris overseer and maintainer.

Let's get crazy with this, right? Reminds me of going from the simplicity of 'used car' to 'pre-owned vehicle'. The more letters and syllables the better. LOL

I think that is a great one! I am fine with Dog owner.

Defiantly against dog parent same with calling pets fur kids because I do think too many people see dogs as little humans in fur coats. I love my dogs as much as anyone else and they are part of my family, but I cringe when someone asks how are your fur babies or fur kids? They are not my kids they are my dogs and there is nothing wrong with that. People need to start letting dogs be dogs. My dogs are very happy being dogs.
