I call BS. It would be magic for a chemical to be able to actively remove alcohol from your blood stream. If this is real, it means you can drink fluids that mimic the function of your liver, and if that were true, this is NOT where the product would first be marketed.
Safety Shot, a new blood alcohol detox drink set to launch later this year, promises to reduce blood alcohol content in less than an hour after consumption and make hangovers a thing of the past.
The product, set to launch in Q4 of 2023, has been described as “the biggest disruption in the drink market” to date and “the epitome of beverage innovation”.
Its patented formula is said to be able to slash a person’s blood alcohol content in half in just 30 minutes, giving them a general feeling of well-being and reducing the risk of alcohol poisoning and even hangovers AND will be available to buy just in time - for Christmas
Companies have been trying to promote the ultimate hangover cure for years now, from Zbiotic, the world’s first genetically modified probiotic, to Morning Recovery, or the beer that doesn’t give you hangovers. Could Safety Shot be the last one we’ll ever need? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Hmmm.... Not sure whose agenda this is, but will surely increase alcohol consumption, no?
Mixed feelings on this one. Alcohol is a known poison. But if you're smart you learn what your body can handle, and what it can't. This new product is a total unknown, much like the covid vaccines. Are you better off with the devil you know, or the devil you don't?

I think you're right, however they somehow patented that stuff...
Go figure...
It may be able to reduce blood sugar amounts, although I question that too. It may coat the stomach to slow the absorption of additional alcohol (like activated charcoal.) It may be an novel mixture of electrolytes and minerals.
I don't believe for one second it removes alcohol from your blood stream, effectively bypassing the need for your liver to do so. The quote that "it reduces it by 1/2" should be a big red flag. Half can be .02/.04, like two drinks reduced to one, or .10/.20 like which would be 5X the amount of alcohol removed compared to the other example.
What substance works that way? The same dose just halving your blood concentration of a substance, regardless of how high the initial starting level is?
But, yeah, the timing of release is definitely related to increased alcohol consumption=profit.
Besides: this "miracle" drink doesn't need FDA approval, so they can state what they want to pitch sales.
From the same link:
Safety Shot’s launch is boosted by the Company’s engagement of Advantage Solutions, which deploys its expansive sales, marketing, and technology solutions to ramp and grow sales.
Safety Shot’s breakthrough patented formula accelerates the process of detoxifying the body of alcohol through a tailored selection of all natural vitamins, minerals, and nootropics that assist with rehydration and mental clarity.
The FTC would still expect them to have substantiation for their claims. Looks like they are a publicly traded company, so the SEC could also lay the smack down if this is snake oil. Interestingly, it looks like this company was in the baldness cure space before pivoting to this, so they likely already have some experience navigating those landmines. Prepare for the social media influencer deluge. (sigh)

if someone wants to be better off, they stop drinking
