After years of overuse and abuse, the Forest Service is proposing new rules. Limiting visitors to 615 per day, providing shuttle service, and making people pay for permits. This is the article that I found -- Changes are coming to Hanging Lake; here's how to give your input | 9news.com

I am in favor of this. Too easy for idiots to access it. People are acting far too irresponsibly there.

Saw that on my "local" news. Good idea, some places just can't sustain 10,000 people a day tramping through it.

“Only” 615 people per day. Hhll YEAH I like adding restrictions! Hope it prevents more commercial nonsense such as what recently happened, which tends to draw even more idiots.

This is a great idea. I've never been but I've tried to go. Parking is impossible. With a permit and shuttle system you will know in advance if you can go.

Good! Way past due. Sadly the place has been inundated with unconscionable morons.

With our population being what it is now and this place being as popular as it is, I think this is just necessary if we're not going to just ruin the wild place we love in this state.

I'm glad we got to experience Hanging Lake a couple of years back, but it was a madhouse when we went there. It took 45 mins just to get parking. If this helps alleviate some of the congestion, and keep the park in pristine condition, then go for it.

I encourage you all to follow the link and post a comment in support on the forest service page that is seeking comment on the plan.

I went to Hanging Lake once, maybe 15 years ago. It was nice to have so much of the place to ourselves at the time. So sad to hear it has been completely overrun by litterbugs, social media opportunists and just straight up morons. So yeah I support limits in this treasure. Of course that just means the morons will go somewhere else. But whatcha gonna do? You can't fix stupid. (But you can regulate it).
