I don’t know how it’s spent each county-wise, but in my opinion, the counties who contribute more to it should be the ones getting the new buildings. If your county wants new buildings, sell more dispensary licenses, get people to use them. I do realize small towns can’t compete with bigger ones in this scenario, but they shouldn’t be relying on this for school improvements. What did they do before this was legal?

A lot of it is based on how much each county generated in Marijuana tax revenue, although even counties without Marijuana did have some improvements made.

The state has been shortchanging education for decades vs. funding it promised in order to balance its budget and so capital improvement projects have simply been accumulating unless you live in an area where people are particularly wealthy, paying high property taxes and with lots of new growth, or in a place where people will vote for mill levy overrides and bonds regularly. Most people who work in an office would be shocked if they knew the conditions of the schools their kids go to in comparison to their offices....
