The 139th edition of the Colorado State Fair starts today with sold out concerts and a number of free activities to keep everyone entertained. I will be going this weekend and will post my pictures. BTW it's suppose to be hot during the day as the high's will be in the upper 90's to close to 100 with little to no rain and very warm nights, the low last night was 74. So it should be a good 11 days to end the summer and have a great time at the fair.

The lineup:

Grandstand Arena

Date/ Event

Aug. 26 PRCA Rodeo and Little Big Town
Aug. 27 PRCA Rodeo and The Band Perry
Aug. 28 PRCA Rodeo and Freestyle Bullfighting
Aug. 29 PRCA Rodeo
Aug. 30 PRCA Rodeo
Sept. 1 Ranch Rodeo
Sept. 2 Figure 8 Death Races
Sept. 3 Demo Derby
Sept. 4 Celebracion del Charro

Events Center

Aug. 26 Roller Derby
Aug. 31 Engelbert Humperdinck
Sept. 1 Martina McBride
Sept. 2 The Beach Boys
Sept. 3 Selena Gomez
Sept. 4 Los Lobos

I know this is very early as its the first weekend but the Pueblo Chieftain is reporting that the concert with the Band Perry at the main grand stand after the rodeo was a sell out at 14,000 people and attendance is up from last years record about 6%. I was at the fair Friday and Saturday nights and it was packed. This is great news and I hope it stays that way for the rest of the event. The weather has been helpful as well. Sure its been hot during the days with high's around 100 but it stays warm at night with no rain and it's not cold even at 10 or 11. The good news is the rest of the week the highs should only be in the low to mid 90's with no rain and warm nights.

We went today and had a good time! Since it was military appreciation day we saved a bunch of money on admission. The buildings were neat. I enjoyed seeing all of the crafts, photographs, 4-H projects, etc... We watched the Dock Dogs, the Pirate Show, and the pig races.

It wasn't as large as I thought it was going to be. I'm surprised that only CSU is represented there, you'd think the other colleges would have something there.

I am glad you had fun. Usually CU and UCCS are there but your right I have not seen them this year. Only CSU FC and CSU Pueblo, very odd.

Here are some pictures I took of the Fair.

Colorado State University - Pueblo had a alumni event at the rodeo. It was fun with great food and the rodeo was sold out.

Just two pictures of the fair.

Don't you have anything better to do than go to the fair and take pictures of the same novelties that we see every year?

No, he doesn't.

So why do you drag yourself into Joss's posts and insult him? Don't you have anything better to do?

Your Colorado State Fair is in full swing now and some of us are enjoying it. Summer's almost over.

The night we went there were over 69,000 folks there.

Keep posting pics Joss.

Durango, why don't you start your own thread of the wonderful things to do in Durango or something?
