Nevertheless, Atlanta is still routinely mentioned as one of the strip club capitals of America and its strip clubs have a symbiotic relationship with two of the city's most important and visible industries, namely music and tourism/conventions, which have only gotten bigger over the past 25 years. Buckhead Village was going to meet its demise sooner or later, even without the Ray Lewis incident in 2000, because it was getting a bit too wild. Besides that, I can't think of a city today whose nightlife scene hasn't dramatically changed and declined from 25 years ago. But Atlanta's strip clubs weren't clustered in Buckhead Village so its demise didn't have a disproportionate impact on the strip club scene specifically. When Atlanta hosted the Super Bowl in 2019, the strip clubs were front and center for nightlife.
I also remember the concerted effort to shut down the Gold Club because the City wanted the land, the neighborhood wanted the club to go and there was scandal there that ESPN did a feature story on. I know Magic City is still going strong with their famous Lou Williams Lemon Pepper wings lol.
About half of the strip clubs in Portland are inside of dive bars.
Portland has the most strip clubs per capita, and there are basically no restrictions. The vibe tends to be more low-key, but some people may prefer that.
Portland is well known for their strip clubs and they pride themselves on the whole feminist/yas queen thing, the strippers are not very attractive though.
