If a person is gay, is that a reason to exclude them from a community of faith? Are not all people sinners?
God intended that the rich man sit on the pew beside the poor. The prostitute to sit beside the virgin, the thief to sit beside the hard working man. etc....
But God did not intend for a lifestyle of sin to be continued while in the church pretending to believe.
The gay are welcome in our church, our door is open for all, but they cannot display characteristics of their sin in public church services! Pride of their lifestyle and open flaunting of it will not be tolerated.
"For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself."
Apparently Part 3 of this seemingly endless topic will eventually reach 10,000 posts and move on to Part 4. What on earth is the point???
At the end of Part 2, the always-wise Irkle (that would be me, although at the moment I am somewhat impaired by Russian vodka) pointed out that there are really only two perspectives:
1. You are a biblical Christian, in which case homosexuality is a sin like any other. Those who practice homosexuality will answer to God. Those who promote or celebrate homosexuality will answer to God. Those who pretend homosexuality isn't a sin will answer to God.
2. You are not a biblical Christian and can believe whatever the hell you want about anything, including homosexuality.
Are we done now? No, I didn't think so.
It would be interesting to know how many of those who promote and celebrate homosexuality have in fact engaged in homosexual practices or other sexual practices the Bible condemns. I would guess about 97%. For the record, Saint Irkle has never engaged in homosexual practices, finds homosexual practices repulsive, and has never engaged in any sexual activity outside of marriage - as unlikely as that may seem. Of course, what Saint Irkle thinks is irrelevent. What God thinks is what matters - and the Christian God, at least, thinks homosexuality is an abomination.

Apparently the Russian vodka wouldn't allow you to finish your post! I may know something about that.
The point is that the Word of our Lord works from the hearing of it, and convicts the heart of sin and opens the eyes of the blind to their sin.
Some will continue to resist, but their is one poor soul out there that God has pinpointed, who has realized their life is empty and they are in search of why, what it is it that I am lacking.
This is why this thread will never end, God will not give up on man that He loves so much, a creation of the likeness of Himself. A creation He wants to enjoy in His fellowship for eternity.

This is a discussion forum for people to discuss all things related to Christianity and what is important to them for and against, the point is if people weren’t interested they wouldn’t post in it, there are obviously lots of people interested in the topic - so that is the point
If you have lost interest in the back and forth, don’t look at the thread
Do you believe there is any limits we should have in regards to people in a church? Are there any sins worth denying someone for?
But Who are you to judge?
The bottom line and ideal for the Christian is to walk by faith, in the spirit, as much as we can, endeavouring to show these qualities - Gal 5:22**But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23**Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Obviously we all have many differences, and we fall at times, but we really need to try a lot better as the Scriptures tell us - Individually and in our separate “assemblies/churches”
Confirm Your Calling and Election
2Pe 1:3**According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2Pe 1:4**Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2Pe 1:5**And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
2Pe 1:6**And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
2Pe 1:7**And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
2Pe 1:8**For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Pe 1:9**But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
2Pe 1:10**Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
