I know who owns the cat.
I would trap the cat and say it's a stray.
Animal control WILL NOT help me.
I have a fence topper (purrfectfence.com) already but the cat is trying to jump that into my yard.
I will NOT keep my cats inside my house due to some ahole cat. I bought a house and spent thousands on the fence topper to allow them to be in my backyard safely.
Fill a good squirt gun with ammonia, bleach, or best of all some really hot hot pepper infused oil. Then when the cat comes in your yard spray it. A really stupid cat will come back one more time.
I don't think you understand. I wouldn't have time if the cat got into my yard. It would be instant fighting between cats. It is gunning for my cats
Trap the cat! It looks like your only way out! I have seen the bigger males here attack the female, and just after she had kittens. It is brutal. All of the cats here, except one, who is in danger wandering from home, are strays. It is not easy to trap a smart cat either, so be prepared for possible disappointment. Also, be careful not to be bitten.

We had a cat that was an escape artist!
I'm going to try it today, but it already evaded it once. I don't know what I would have done that day if it had attacked my cat while I was holding it. I would have been severely hurt!!!
These people are purposely letting their cat out. It's not an escape artist in anyway
It's not the roaming cat's fault. It's only doing what cats do. Obviously you don't want to trap your own cats. Can you set up where your cats can't get in it? I once trapped nine feral cats and had them all spayed and neutered, then I released them back to my barn. I was surprised at how willing the cats were to go in the cages for food. Good luck with your endeavors. Hopefully if the shelter takes it the neighbors won't just replace it with another aggressive cat.
My plan of action would include speaking to the owner first. Leave a sealed envelope taped to their door if necessary, explain your vet bills, provide a copy of the invoice....ask for compensation. Next, if no cooperation....get a Pellet gun....they are not the most accurate, so practice. Just don't threaten to shoot the cat....they don't need to know your intentions. Make it a money shot, no one wants to see a critter suffer from a gut shot. Lastly...bury dead cat.
If a farmer has the right to protect his/her livestock from menacing animals (dogs, coyotes, etc) , there should be no reason you can't protect your livestock in your yard....but I'd check with the county animal control first.
Just in case someone thinks I have a vendetta against cats, I'd do the same with stray dogs.

I honestly think you should talk to the neighbors before taking the cat in to be euthanized.
