A lot of tourists do go to Ferndale, but I wouldn't say it is all that touristy. It is just a very well preserved Victorian town south of Eureka. As an aside, the movie The Majestic with Jim Carrey was filmed there a few years ago.

This is the front of the park... its a very large park that has a soccer field, plenty of hiking, a campgrounds area, a creek, etc.
