Lake Charles here, ppl in this city cannot drive damnit! Honestly how anybody can flunk somebody on a driving exam is beyond my knowledge b/c they probably did not drive any worse than you see the average driver here doing.

First offense is almost $600. It is unwise to say the least.

A few years ago, I was driving behind a car in Central Fla and watched a carload of young people throw out two bags of McDonald's garbage. I took down the tag number and called the sheriff's office. Someone finally called me back, I think, or I recalled them and, supposedly, they had made contact with the "trashers" and they were such lowlifes, the sheriffs office advised me NOT to press charges as the "trashers" would probably retailiate against me. I could hardly believe it but, I did not press charges..........

Yeah well the job I have I'm always on the road all the time around Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. One evening I was crossing the new Mississippi River Bridge and in front of me was an 18 wheel wheeler with HELP ME I'm locked inside scrawled on the back door, yeah it was probably a joke but still, I called the cops gave them all the info and they acted like they could care less.

The state police do a way better job to responding to your calls.

So a person was locked INSIDE , and scrawled a message on the OUTSIDE ? I wouldn't have taken it serious either .

don't you mean " ... acted like they COULDN'T care less " ?

You ever think if whoever let them out they may have not wrote the message? I know I would have.

In todays society you don't think its a possiblity?

Actually, I'm going to agree with our friend from Florida. I think drivers in Baton Rouge are quite nice and typically let you out of side streets. It's usually the folks in New Orleans that will run you over for changing lanes. I'm moving to San Antonio right now, and THAT place has some extremely stupid drivers, so BR's got nothing on them. Still, the scariest place I've driven on a freeway has got to be Memphis. I think folks in BR typically let people out because traffic's ALWAYS backed up here. If they don't let people out during rush hour, no one will ever get out, and tomorrow it could be the other person that is trying to get onto the freeway, soooo that's my theory on why people seem to typically let you out onto the road or into a lane. I have to deal with the lane-merging game every day on my commute. I'm sick of doing this, so I'm trying to move as closely as possible to my new office in San Antonio, 'cause it's a nightmare to do that there.

As far as litter, I can't freaking stand it. I wish there were an easier way to bust people for that!

Honestly, I've found traffic in BR not to be really that frustrating. The drivers here are indeed a lot nicer than other places I've been, and the traffic here is pretty avoidable if you know alternate routes and certain times. Now, when I visted ATL, and Dallas, I honestly can't say the same. Those two cites alone made me appreciate BR traffic a lot more!
