Braves-Dodgers trade was independent of the Dodgers-Marlins trade. Braves sent Alex Wood, Jim Johnson, Luis Avilan, and Jose Peraza and received Hector Olivera, Zach Bird, Paco Rodriguez, and a competitive balance draft pick.
Doesn't seem like all that great of a return for the Braves, given what they're trading away. I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Puig is included in this deal, but is still pending a physical.

If Oilvera fails his physical for the Braves, the trade would be voided.
Blue Jays acquire David Price for Daniel Norris, Matt Boyd and another prospect. Risky trade for the Jays, but the Tigers got more for 2 months and about 12 starts for Price then the Rays did for 14 months and a full season of Price.
Cardinals acquire Indians Brendon Moss. Needed help at 1b, with Matt Adams on the DL, and now LF Holliday is out for a while with a quad strain. Still think Adam Lind of the Brewers was a better fit for the Cards, but we will see. Doesn't sound like Cards nation is too excited about that trade however.

Moss has been a sub zero WAR defensive player his entire career, whether at first, third or the outfield. Most of his value as a player has been concentrated in his walks and power hitting. However, this season the walks have diminished greatly and overall for the season, despite a decent slugging average, Moss is at -0.5 WAR. Seems like the Cards could have reached somewhere in their organization and found a firstbaseman who was at least at replacement level rather than hiring someone who is below.

That the Cards had to settle for Moss and still give up their #3 prospect would indicate that Brewers' price for Lind is unreasonable.
Pirates acquire Tigers closer Joakim Soria, yikes!
Scary last 3 innings for the Bucco's: Tony Watson in the 7th, Soria in the 8th, Mark Melancon in the 9th. Look like the Royals of the NL. Also, with the starters they have in place, getting out to a lead in the first 6 innings will be tough. I'm happy the Nats are done with them this year!

Wasn't too tough for Reds to get out to a big lead in first 6 innings tonight, lol.
Burnett was only hitting 88 in first couple of innings and getting belted until Joe West's floating strike zone pissed him off, then he started hitting 94, but it was too late.
Guerra threw 64 pitches in 1.1 innings. Expect the DFA in morning.
Bastardo walked five in two innings, including walking in a run.
Thankfully, reserve AAAA OF Jaff Dacker handled the eighth, allowing two hits, but no runs off his sparking array of change ups set up by other change ups.
Carlos Gomez and Mike Fiers have been traded from the Milwaukee Brewers to the Houston Astros. Luckily for the Brewers the Mets deal fell through as the Brewers received a much better deal from the Astros then they got from the Mets in Zack Wheeler and Wilmer Flores, the 2 biggest names being Brett Phillips and Domingo Santana. They also received pitching prospects Adrian Houser and Josh Hader. Gomez gives the Astros another bat in that lineup, and Fiers gives them rotation depth in case they want to limit rookie Lance McCullers innings down the stretch here to save him for October. At the least Fiers can eat some innings for them as a 4 or 5 starter in the regular season, and then work as a long man in the playoffs should the Astros get there.
The D'Backs have sent an offer to Cincinnati regarding Aroldis Chapman. Unless it has Archie Bradley in it, Cincinnati probably declines it.
The Mets are taking a look at Jay Bruce, the Padres are still likely to make some moves between now and 4 PM eastern, and could very well be the busiest team tomorrow with Justin Upton, Joaquin Benoit, Craig Kimbrel, Andrew Cashner, Tyson Ross, Ian Kennedy and James Shields all available. Doubt San Diego gets rid of them all, but I'd be even more shocked if they all remained on the team, as Tyson Ross & Kimbrel are hot commodities around the league, so if I had to pick 2 to get traded I'd pick those 2.
Since it's midnight on the East coast I doubt not much of significance happens between now and 8, but if something does I'll update the thread in the morning with the details.
