Now if only I could be as lucky in predicting future winning lotto numbers!
I was leery of this weekend, expected Phils to be motivated after Sunday's 17-0 Mets win. I missed game (traveling), but was livid TC did not remove all regulars earlier, and he should have let relief corps bat. Sometimes when you play same team next week, well they remember and remind you.
UGH. Mets are away in Miami next April 15. I want to attend Jackie Robinson festivities night and IMO the team from the city he played in, and the league he played in, should be home that day every year.
Can the MLB front office handle even the basics correctly?
Decent 2-1 start, delighted starters have been very good, very early.
Gotta stay healthier than '16. TC has done spectacularly considering injuries the last few years, keeping them .500 before getting Ces 2 years ago, and Ces back from DL late last year.
So far, not a bad start. Mostly good starting pitching. Bruce looks like his normal self; D'Arnaud bat looks more like 2 years ago vs last year, and Conforto looks like his call-up year, too.
It's too bad we can't beat the Mets at full strength.
Duda (can't believe he got hurt before Zimmerman did!!) on the DL, Cespedes missing this weekend, deGrom hurt his neck, Cabrera has a calf injury, Reyes & Granderson fell off a cliff from 2016, ever since the 16 inning game in Miami last weekend the pitching staff has been shot. They would've just been better off letting Miami win in the 9th or 10th and saved 6 or 7 innings. Lot of things going wrong for this team right now. Hopefully, these next 7 days we can bank a couple games in the standings when our injuries happen, and when the Mets get healthy later on in the season and right the ship.
Mets minor leaguer Tim Tebow is currently hitting 14% better than the average hitter in his league - the class A South Atlantic League.
Not many expect him to succeed at baseball, but I'm cheering for the guy.
Over his last ten games, he has a 5% walk rate, 21% strike out rate and 156 wRC+ compared to 5%, 25% and 75 wRC+ in his 10 prior games.
I was hoping to see more skills improvement than a 16% improvement in K rate to support the improvement in wRC+, so that's a bit disappointing.
He's actually even shown a decrease in ISO in his second ten games - .147 compared to .158. A meaningless difference especially over just 40ish plate appearances.
The main difference is a .192 BABIP compared to .423. That could be the result of better contact, or it could just be luck.
I'm not rooting for the Mets, but if they should happen to right the ship and win the World Series, I hope it's on a Tebow walkoff.
Playing terribly, underperforming even with the No Ces affect.
