For 2020 shorter races, double headers, more short track racing, mid-week race, less "cookie-cutter" tracks etc... is possible. They also floated a double-header with Indy Cars. Universal naming rights may go away to allow a "bundled" naming right.
Doubleheader with Indy would only be really interesting for Indy.. And I don't see that happening with the Coke 600 moving dates.
Negotiating with Indy and adjusting the 600 start time so that drivers could do the double again.. That might work.
The first Sunday without NASCAR was blah... i did watch more football than i have this year.. but prefer a good NASCAR race any day.
Can't wait for Daytona...
and the collective withdrawal symptoms are already coming to the surface. in years past the speed channel, now fox sports one, would show the SCCA runoffs to help ease withdrawal symptoms, but now no one shows them.:cryi ng:

NASCAR's top series had another record low for TV viewership this season. The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series averaged 3.3 million viewers across 33 races on NBC, Fox, NBCSN and FS1 this season (excluding rainouts at Martinsville, Bristol and Indianapolis). That figure is down from 4.1 million viewers last year, and down from 4.5 million viewers in '16.
It's too bad but as you say, not surprising. Someone needs to revamp the series, that's not named France, and soon. So many good ideas out there (and on this forum) but seems there's no will for change at the top. I suppose as long as they make money they don't care much. I'll admit this year I didn't watch many races. Even wanting to hear Jr in the booth only lasted a few races.
