Does anyone have any pics of the Austin skyline dirving west on 360. I past by there the other day and it was just breathtaking

Yes, this is the best pic I have seen of the Austin skyline. I wish it would have included UT. Any pics coming from East Austin

TexasHorseLady: Look what those awful developers are doing to our fair city! The outrage!

Seriously though I'm more impressed with it when I'm just south of the river. I just notice the Austonian lit up at night with the angled roofs and Austin 360 still reminds me of the front of a ship that is about to leave port.

I always thought the 360 looked a little art deco.

The 360 views looks a lot like the Vancouver or Seattle skyline views from the hills. Is there any similarities between Vancouver and Austin

Not that I can think of. Vancouver is a lot more urban, cleaner and prettier. I really wish we had some big mountains behind the skyline like they do as well!

I know some people complain about all the downtown development in Austin, but I absolutely LOVE it! I hope our skyline continues to evolve and become even more impressive. I am all about growing "up" instead of "out". It's the damned suburban sprawl that is killing Austin, not high rise buildings!

It may be a surprising to learn that a 450ft version of the 360 was first built in Atlanta in 2005.

I completely agree. I cannot stand hearing people complain about the highrises replacing the parking lots downtown. As if those parking lots are what gives Austin its character.
