Now you people have me concerned. We just moved here and heard great thing about Stepping Stone, but is it considered a Pre-School or Day Care? From what I can tell after the tour that they teach a ciriculum and treat it like its a Pre-School.

My daughter is going to First United Methodist in Georgetown. I am sooo happy with the program there. It reminds me of a montessori program. It's $220 a month and goes MWF 9:30-2:30.

Good Luck!

Just remember Stepping Stone is quite large, and part of a chain. They're in it for profit. If you need a place for child care while working its good, but if you just want a pre-school a few days a week try church-affiliated schools, also, First United Methodist Church in Round Rock has a nice pre-school program.

The cost of this school actually is $400 cheaper a month and it includes food. My biggest concern is that they teach some kind of course like counting, writing and letters. We are evaluating the weekly lessons to see if he is going to get anything out of this school or if its time to try something else.

We have friends who use it, and I have toured it and spoke with the owners - it's fabulous. Fabulous, of course, comes with a price tag....
FYI, you might want to see the latest licensing reports for Emerson Academy...

I'd encourage any parent to check out any daycare on the DFPS website and always trust your gut.

Default Montessori and traditional

My child goes to Sunrise Montessori in Round Rock. Can't say enough good things about it! If you do a google search, you'll find their website. They have full day as well as part time programs (2 day/3/5). Another preschool I almost tried which is really cute is Harmony Hill Preschool in RR. Again, search for them on google. Harmony Hill offers a traditional preschool program, but I prefer Montessori for its problem solving emphasis and independent thinking. HH only does part time. Check out both websites, take a tour and you'll see which is right for you. Good luck!

Thanks for the input. I checked out Harmony Hill and decided on that one. I also have a few friends that have their kids in Sunrise Montessori in Round Rock. The one on 79 behind the old HEB. Two of my friends love it for their kid. One of my friends not so much.
