Hi All,

I have two old addresses that I have lived at on and off for the past few years due to Job movement. One in GA and one in Dallas - TX. I receive some of my mail in GA and some of my mail in Dallas - TX. Now I have moved to Austin -TX permanently and want to receive ALL of my mail here.

I filed a change of address with USPS for my previous Dallas-TX address to my new Austin-TX address. I want to also file one for my previous GA address to new Austin-TX address, but not sure if this would work out. I don't want to mess up and have my important mails lost. Will I be fine making this change? Please let me know your recommendation.

Thanks

Assuming USPS, the Change of Address system was set up to handle multiple moves and the final target destination. Sorting machines scan the address and if it's tagged with a new address, a forwarding label will be printed and placed on the mail piece. (reference, I worked writing software for said systems, but haven't been there in 7 years)

We moved a year ago. It took several weeks before things started showing up at the new address, despite having submitted the paperwork well in advance.

Yes... and edit mine to say not only did it take several weeks to start mine, I got stuff long after the 6 months were up. That's a good thing, I guess.
