I was renting for 2400, probably going to list at 2750 and offer a 5% discount for a 2 year lease. I’be got 2 years left in DFW and then I’m moving back, so I’d love to not have to swap tenants again during that time.
It's the "mountain views." (Threads earlier in the year were really hyping the hill country views for some reason).

Yeah. That’s what I’d heard. And when you’ve got a family coming in you don’t want to bounce the kids schools around. Leander was never known for having a lot of rental stock to begin with.

There's no Hill Country views in the bulk of Leander's apartment complexes. Most of them are stacked up along 183a and sections of Bagdad... ...The Hill Country views do not happen until you get way west of Lakeline Blvd which probably accounts for only 5 - 10% of Leander, yet receives the most recognition.

Your right. Theres no views at all .. you would have to head towards jonestown on 1431 or head into crystal falls. I lived right over there in Cedar Park near Baghdad and there were no views. Theres also beautiful views if you go north on parmer about 5-10 miles north of 1431.. I seen some apartments over there that might have some..

I have plenty of views now in Kempner though. Truly a hidden gem of an area

Given that rentals don’t have homestead exemptions it will be interesting to see next years appraised values and their impact.

Yeah. That catch-up was rough when the homestead dropped off. The difference in mine wasn’t too big this past year and values were already rocketing.

There are no views at all. It’s new construction apartments that filled up pretty quick. Now that people are in and see what it actually is, there are some moving out. They built this place with no sound insulation at all and you can hear EVERYTHING. I’ve been woken up twice now by my neighbors loud bedroom activities.

When we moved in, it was $1606 for a 2 x 2. I just checked and the same apartment is now $1889.

I wondered, but I’ve had so many people brag about the beautiful Texas hill country and views, I thought you were in that camp.

It was a commentary on those folks. I will say, though, that I drove out to Point Venture last weekend to get a sneak peek of my Airbnb for the NYE weekend and it was almost as nice of a drive as it is heading towards Fredricksburg, after getting past the Whitestone Blvd and apartments in the area.
