But they have been amazing out of ATL. When the big 3 carriers were all price gouging at $600 a ticket for me to fly home to the twin cities last Xmas….little ole Spirit charged us about $150/ticket. Same this year. Always pleasant employees, mostly newer planes, and because it’s a la carte I don’t have to worry about the bev cart hitting my broad shoulders 3X, or a bunch of delays from people trying to stuff overhead bins.

The spirit card is the only credit card I have, and with nominal spending my family easily gets 5-10 tickets free/year. Just booked them to Puerto Rico!

All I’m saying, is if you haven’t tried them because of a decade old horror story, they are different now, and paying an extra $300/ticket isn’t worth the free Coke delta gives you. Maybe that’s just me…
I enjoy Spirit but they do have frequent delays. I use them for day trips when I visit a city. When I went to Vegas earlier in the year, I did a day trip to LA (I landed in LA at around 8 am and was supposed to fly out at 9 pm back to Vegas but the flight was delayed until around 11 pm). Roundtrip tickets were like $40 or something. I did similar day trips for Miami - Orlando and NYC - Boston. All the tickets were pretty cheap (I think $50 - $70 range), but these trips had delays as well.

Pretty cool to see it actually happening--I fly some of these routes a lot. Their E190 is comfortable too, since there are no middle seats.

American/American Eagle flies to Charlotte, Chicago O'Hare, Dallas, Miami, Philly, Phoenix, and DC National while United has flights to Chicago, Denver, Houston, Newark, SFO, and DC-Dulles. Alaska currently just has flights to Seattle but as mentioned earlier, will start flights to San Diego next year which is also a hub. Meanwhile JetBlue has flights to both NYC airports, Boston, and Fort Lauderdale.

Here's a list of all the current foreign carriers that fly to ATL:

- Air Canada - Toronto and Montreal
- Air France - Paris CDG
- British Airways - London Heathrow
- Copa Airlines - Panama City
- Ethiopian Airlines - Addis Ababa
- KLM - Amsterdam
- Korean Air - Seoul
- LATAM Peru - Lima
- Lufthansa - Frankfurt
- Qatar Airways - Doha
- Turkish Airlines - Istanbul
- Virgin Atlantic - London Heathrow and Manchester
- WestJet - Calgary, Vancouver, and Winnipeg

Aeromexico will start service back up next year as mentioned earlier.

Yeah, it would be nice to have at least one JAL flight from Tokyo. Probably better from Narita since Delta flies to Haneda. JAL flies to pretty much every major US city from either Narita or Haneda or both including LAX, SFO, Seattle, San Diego, DFW, Chicago, New York, Boston, and of course Honolulu. Surprisingly JAL doesn't fly to DC but ANA does and to some of the other cities mentioned, mainly the United hubs.
Bolded are the ones that have come into existence in the last 7 years (Turkish and Qatar both started in 2016 I think). Over a doubling of foreign carrier service, with even more on the way through Aeromexico.

I also suspect another Mexican airline will start service to Atlanta eventually (Viva Aerobus or Volaris).

Yay, indeed! I've been waiting for this announcement.

Kind of amazing the buildup of new exotic leisure and business routes (everything from Santa Barbara to Addis Ababa to Winnipeg to Tulum added this year) contrasted with the much quieter drawdown in random small origin points throughout the Midwest and Southeast that have lost regional jet service.

Kingston is practically the less touristy part of Jamaica as well as the capital. Only way to get flight service to Jamaica from ATL is to stop at Montego Bay.

This is a sophisticated, well traveled group here, and several of us are in theTravel industry. We are already very aware of the dynamics of Jamaica, and don't need to be schooled.
