Your question is among one of mine also.
So, I am going to add a little more to that question:
1. What is the state of the economy in LHC for those living there these days? Zillow makes it look like there are alot of foreclosures?

2. It also looks like the city's website has plans to revamp the downtown area (Main st). Are they still planning to do this, or has the state of the economy halted this effort?

I am also interested in : I am interested in info about the cost of living, jobs (I am in health care), and the public school system.
Thanks for info......

The State of the economy in Lake Havasu is poor, the Tax revenues are down, hotels are hurting also
Yes there are alot of foreclosures that has not leveled off but houses still are selling. You can get a decent house for around $150,000 now
The City has plans to do some revamping of downtown but I doubt it will happen anytime soon. It took them a few years just to replace some docks.
The cost of living is getting worse and worse because of the new sewer project and the never ending increase of electric bills. Everything is going up.
Jobs.... Good luck finding one even the health care jobs are now hard to get,not impossible but harder then it use to be.
The good news is that the mall is doing pretty good.
That sums up Lake Havasu

The Village around the time of the original dedication. I think around the end of 1971.

Yup it used to be a cool place visiting as a kid. Alas, it is now gone and they are building a Hilton on the land.

I somewhat enjoyed LHC when I went there a couple of times.

Never payed much attention to the "English Village" area other than a glance or two. My main "thrill" was walking on the London Bridge, and thinking that Jack the Ripper may have actually walked over it as well!

The entire village is gone? I thought they only demolished part of it.

I just drove through there last weekend and stopped for lunch at In n Out. It looked like the Village area was still there, or the concrete square area anyway - but to be honest I didn't pay a lot of attention.

Overall Havasu seems in better shape than Bullhead or Parker. Still a long way to nowhere.

Well lets hope Havasu keeps improving!
