We have 75 different license plate options. I'm sure there are lots of things that people like that aren't represented on a plate meant to show your vehicle's registration.

Three! When I moved to Arizona I agonized about what sort of plate to get for my car (along with the personalization of the plate). I ended up wit the Centennial plate, which I think is an eye-catching design.

Agreed. They got it right when they changed to the more scenic plate. Not sure what the fuss is about.

Didn't AZ have a tan-colored plate at some point in the past?

I had a dark green Nissan that that plate looked great on. Not a common situation, for sure.

You may be onto something! I’ve always wanted a British racing green car.

Are you referring to the gold Historic plates or the orange plates from the 70s?

Why not? It's not like there aren't tons of other plate options.

I think the state could have waited awhile to use random alphanumeric codes on all their plates. What was wrong with the ABC1234 series on the standard plates? They weren't going to run out for awhile.

Looks like the retro 1980s red license plate may come back due to increase in interest from the public. I got in contact with one of the representatives in AZ-LD3, the information was passed along and why we they should be reintroduced. It will be in review.

Currently, the session ends in July so it won't be brought up until January 2024 hearing if it garners enough interest. These plates will not replace the current 2023 version, but as an alternative like many other states are doing. The only difference is they'll be screen printed and updated with current technology that all the other plates use. Hope for the best.
