I know we live in a dry climate, but we definitely have those pesky insects! I was trying to work outside a local college on my computer and couldn't keep them off of me. Not just one or two, I'm talking a swarm! Needless to say I was chased into a local Starbucks where I was able to finish my work in peace.

Keep in mind, Goolsbyjazz . . .

For each and every Mosquito you encounter here in Arizona, there are dozens, if not hundreds to pester you Up There and/or Over There.

They never seem to be a problem for me but my neighbor swears Garlic Pills work wonders for her.

Worth a try?

I have a big problem with them in Scottsdale, too. Theyre almost as bad as they were in IL!

I'm glad we have people like you and Big Cats around. They do seem to have preferences. When hiking with others they don't seem to like me and bother the others.

thanks,

I'm still waiting to see my first mosquito down here. Flies, on the other hand...they're everywhere.

I live in a rural farm area and unfortunately the mosquito larva come in our irrigation water. Some years it has been so bad we have to look before we open the door and if they're swarming, go out another way. That is a very rare event though. There is a company called Vector that anyone out here can call and they will come out and spray at dawn. It is a county service I believe, that is free.
This time of year I check my horses water trough, and if I see the larva I add some vegetable oil to the top and it kills them naturally. Otherwise it's mosquito spray and scrim sheets for the horses and even that isn't enough sometimes.

I was visiting someone in their apartment on Monday and received 4 bites. I'm allergic to them as well. Did I mention terrible?

Same here in Goodyear. I've seen a few mosquitos here and there but the flies are ruthless this year.
