There were many Fillipinos that came to Cuba as well. Louisiana had lots of immigration from Cuba and was connected to Mexico as well during the Spanish colonial period with each region controlling one another at some point during various times. So lots of people migrated between these regions. Many Chinese migrated through these lands as well to the new world during colonial times.

Maybe that's why Cuban pastries are so damn good.
Many white Haitians fled to Cuba during the Haitian Revolution and some even came from Louisiana and Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic and back and forth. People of French descent settled in large numbers in Eastern Cuba in Santiago de Cuba and even in Guantanamo. They helped revitalized and help Cuba rise to new heights that they had never reached in it's past history.

I notice a lot of people claim that Afro Argentines were used in wars to decrease their population or decrease their numbers but this has greatly challenged by historians and experts, because many and most Afro-Argentine soldiers did in fact survive the wars they were drafted in or enlisted to fight in.

The true cause for obscurity of Afro Argentines stems from the fact that many Afro-Argentines mixed with white Argentines and other races and immigrants and mixed peoples.

Experts have found that there are more than 2 million people of Afro Argentine descent that live in Argentina today. Most Afro Argentines are descendants of colonial era Afro Argentinean slaves.

Pure whites, mostly Galicians and Canarians arrived during the last century, 30 percent.
The rest are diverse mixtures.

They were not really Filipinos, they were Cantonese that paid money to corrupt Spanish authorities in Manila..so those Catonese became "Filipinos" (Spanish subjects)...so they could travel to Cuba, also Spanish...and to Lousiana, also Spanish.

They became the largest minority in Cuba, around 6 percent of the population. They are almost extinct since they also left.

I'm very well aware of that. But there are still large populations of blacks and Afrodescendants in Western Cuba.

Western Cuba also has some Native American influences in addition to some Fillipino influences (mainly in Pinar del Rio).

I'm aware of that but there were many that were actually Fillipinos though. They happened to pass through Mexico, Cuba and Louisiana during colonial times. The Fillipino presence which is diluted of course can be found in Pinar del Rio.

Over 150,000 Chinese were imported as indentured servants. Many Chinese Cubans left but those that remained stayed in Havana, but they were scattered out in other places in the past.

You misinterpreted the post. I was saying that Cuba is more black and mulatto today, but that there are still many and very large white populations (as in many pure whites).

And it was Canarians and some Andalusians that were the biggest European groups mostly to immigrate to Cuba.

Many Gallegos, Galicians etc that came to Cuba late or more recent in it's history returned to Spain or left Cuba for elsewhere.

Canarians had the biggest impact on the Cuban accent
