I went to work for Mobil Oil and was assigned to Mobile Bay in the mid/latter 90's.
We moved to Mobile and bought our "forever" home.
We really liked Mobile.
I would drive to Billy Goat Hole on Dauphin Island and go Offshore each day.
Then Exxon bought Mobil and moved us to New Orleans in 2000. I hated the commute to the Superdome each day. Next they sent us to Houston in 2003....ugh.....
Then they promptly sent me oversea's to work/live in Africa for 20 year before I retired in 2021.
We kept our home in Houston while we lived in Africa.
Now that we're retired, we're still in Houston....but we might move to a Lakehouse somewhere.....
Maybe Alabama !
But we have always liked Alabama and have fond memories of our time there....

Isn't that what white people do - especially Democrats who try to tell us blacks aren't smart enough to have ID and is the reason that voter ID can't be done?

I seen those episodes where they say we can't get ID's. White and black liberal's think we can't do for self. IDK, with this overtake in illegal immigrants hopefully a larger percentage of black Americans can get the picture they're being played by their so-called leaders.

Where are you from? I'm in Alabama and love it - there is crime everywhere but it's pretty much isolated in the inner cities that are usually Democrat run. There were smash and grabs in the middle class community where I lived in NY - they came from Buffalo into the suburbs. An old neighbor who I talked to yesterday said now there is a ring stealing Kias and Hyundias in our town.

We don't want to be like Atlanta - we like to keep it simple and continue to have good principles, morals and ethics.

We lived there twice of a number of years. SO has family out in the country. I would be back in a hurry it is just not in the stars right now. Neighbors were multi culti, kids played in the cul de sac, an extra bench turned into the school bus stop, everyone helped out during emergencies and to top it every stick you put in the ground sprouted.

Um, base model Kias and Hyundais that don't have push to start being stolen is a nationwide problem, not just in democratic run cities up north that you left behind. The cars have a cheap flaw that can be exploited easily.

Meh...I live in Huntsville, which is routinely mentioned as one of the best mid-sized cities to live and work, raise a family and retire. Huntsville is awesome.

I'm not sure I understand.
Blame the car instead of the thief for the crime?

I know that - but it just proves to show that crime can happen anywhere. What's gotten worse is the fact we had a great police force until Dems changed it and now it's catch and release.
