I can't imagine that anyone will miss Golden Corral. I am speaking from the outside though considering I have never stepped foot inside a Golden Corral anywhere.

I did. Once. The part of the bull I was trying to eat fought back. You know there might be a problem when the napkins are red.

Have you ever noticed the Shoney's in Greenville next to I-65? That has to be one of the last surviving locations.

I still go to the Shoney's on Hwy 431 in Fayetteville, TN from time to time.

Meanwhile, Ruby Tuesday in Hong Kong has grown from one location to 3 since I was there last. That was always a nice taste from home.

History lesson: Ruby Tuesday started in Knoxville early 70s on Cumberland Ave near the university. No relation to Morrison's at that time though they may have merged way later on. That site is about to be gobbled up by a student apartment block.

Second location was in Suburban plaza where Barnes & Noble is now. Not particularly noteworthy except it is the inspiration for the song Third rate romance, low rent rendezvous.

There are 9 Shoney's in the Knoxville area. Guess we got no taste.

How timely, I was just thinking about Ruby Tuesday and how they were my go-to when I was craving good Sliders in the 90's.

Here in Dothan, gone are Ruby Tuesday (Fazoli's took their space), Ryan's, TGI Fridays, Hooters.
Still have Shoney's, Applebee's, Golden Corral and others.

Carry on.

Since the Pandemic, 242 Ruby Tuesday locations have closed and the chain is predicted to close completely in the near future.
