Palisades Park


Located on Ocean Avenue in the southern California city of Santa Monica is the iconic Palisades Park. The location has been a favorite for Hollywood directors as the park has been featured in several movies throughout the past few decades.

The park features a senior center, several picnic areas, a rose garden, pergola, and many outdoor sport courts. One of the most favorite activities at Palisades Park is the people watching. There park attracts quite the mixture of people from many different walks of life so visitors are bound to see some interesting characters.

At certain locations throughout the park there can be a noise issue due to the nearby Pacific Coast Highway traffic. It's a favorite running and rollerblading spot so people should be on the lookout for runners and inline skaters with their iPods.

Palisades is also a favorite spot for formal gatherings such as family reunions and weddings. There are several weddings there per year because of the beautiful scenery, California weather, and Paslisades iconic reputation. The park runs between Colorado Avenue and San Vincente blvd. There is no overnight camping allowed, but it is a favorite place for the homeless to gather.
