Gallo Center for the Arts

Gallo Center for the Arts is located at I Street in Modesto, California and is approximately 90 miles from San Jose. The idea for a performing center for the arts here was conceived back in 1997 but it was not until ten years later when it actually opened. This was after much fund raising and investments of $10 million and $5 million from the Gallo family and the Mary Stuart Rogers Foundation respectively.

The center houses two performance areas, the largest of which is the 1,250-seater Mary Stuart Rogers Theater and the other is the Foster Family Theater with 444 seats. Each theater has an orchestra pit, stage aprons and scene docks as well as modern audio/visual, rigging, drapery and much more equipment. A variety of shows are performed here with tickets available from the ticket office 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays.

Regional artists and local schools as well as performers from across the USA and the world come here to perform, whether it is musical numbers, comedy or magic. The center also offers education programs through theater based experiences. Visitors to the center can park at the 12th Street Garage, which is just one block away.
