Daylight Pass

Daylight Pass is one of the many areas in Death Valley National Park, California visitors can see or drive over as they go through the park. Daylight Pass will help visitors to the park go from the Funeral Range to Grapevine Mountains. Daylight Pass is at an elevation of 4,317 feet. It is one of the shorter United States mountain passes, but nonetheless it can be impressive.

Daylight Pass has been paved allowing for an easy trip to the Armagosa. After one leaves the pass they will cross into the Silver State and then along a national park road through Titus Canyon. At the east end is Titus Canyon Road, which can lead to more areas in the park such as Chloride Cliff Road which has a gentle slope but old washboard and rocks. If one takes this trip they will see the alluvium and get to some of the steeper areas in the park.

Chloride Cliff Road brings individuals to a mining town called Chloride City. The city is an impressive ghost town with many mining ruins to explore. There is a climb up the summit where a fork will lead from the north branch back to Daylight Pass Road.

This is a nice, safe route for bicycling. Road is good, wide and well paved.
