Blue Jay Way

As the inspiration for a Beatle's song written by George Harrison, Blue Jay Way is a street located in the Hollywood Hills. It overlooks Sunset Boulevard and provides amazing views of downtown Los Angeles and the surrounding area. Reaching Blue Jay Way is not an easy task and those who want to ascend the hills will have to work a complicated maze of winding streets to reach their destination. The hills have a tendency to get foggy, making the trip even more complicated and treacherous. The song was written in 1967 while Harrison waited for the band's publicity agent to find his way to the house on Blue Jay Way where he was staying. Beatle's fans and music fans in general enjoy winding up the curvy roads to tour the property on which the house sits. Lining the way are expensive houses, popular for their views of the area and their secluded feeling. When the house was sold after the turn of the 21st century, it had recently bee upgraded and no longer featured many of the same outdated features it had when Harrison wrote his song. In addition to Harrison, Paul Simon of the folk rock band Simon & Garfunkel also rented the house, reportedly writing some of his hit songs on the premises.
