House of Blues Sunset Strip

The original House of Blues opened in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1992 and just two years later, the East Coast phenomenon found a second home on West Coast the House of Blues Sunset Strip. Just like the prototype, this West Hollywood version offers its patrons live music and Delta-inspired cuisine surrounded by original folk art.

Many unique pieces of art and architecture have been gathered here, including work by Alan Sainte James Boudrot along with "Jake and Elwood" movable bars. Covering the Sunset Strip property is tin reclaimed from an old gin mill near the Delta crossroads and the mystical field where Blues musician Robert Johnson allegedly made his famous pact with the Devil for his soul. A metal box filled with mud from the Mississippi Delta is kept underneath the stage.

Many notable acts have played at the House of Blues Sunset Strip, such as Prince and Maceo Parker. This is where Tupac Shakur staged his last live performance, too. With few exceptions, concerts are performed nightly, and each Sunday morning a traditional Gospel Brunch is offered.

The House of Blues Sunset Strip is located at 8430 West Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood, California 90069. The Box Office is open from 11am to 6pm on Tuesday through Saturday. When events are scheduled, the hours are extended accordingly.
