Bondurant, good day! Thank you for contributing. It has been YEARS since I had Zaffiros, on Milwaukee's east side.

But I remember it was VERY good. And I vaguely remember it being a dark and nondescript building. Does that sound right?

Master Jay, do you know any good pizza places near Salem, west of Kenosha?

The best pizza we could find in the area was from Antioch Pizza Shop. Curious what you might know about.

ChiGuy2.5, good to see you here!

The furthest west of Kenosha I've taken is Highway 45, which goes south into Illinois. And the only place I had pizza was on Highway 45, but north in Union Grove, a part of Racine County. And it was nondescript.

I'm very sorry I can't make a referral, near Salem. Hopefully another citydata.commer can help.

You could go INTO Kenosha. Italians had/have a small settlement there.

Otherwise, we end up proving those Illinois heathens correct, that THEY are the place to go for great pizza (which we both know IS true!).

Come up to Milwaukee sometime and I'll give you a tour.

Old Italian bar. Allegedly a former/current mafia front. Bit of a time warp in there. Loved the pizza and I am not partial to thin crust. Better than any thin I had in Chicago.

Bondurant, you know I go to a lot of the "connected" places in Chicago.

So I'd say I'm due for a Zaffiro trip, then.

Reach out if you want to grab a pie there.

And actually, I am a huge fan of thin..... My other favorite being Balistrieris on 68th Street in Wauwatosa.

Totally agree! Their calzones are also very good.

katharsis, hello. How are you doing up 'dere?

I remember years ago I was on Washington island, and they had those delicious Chicago-sent Iltaco pizza puffs, like I used to get in high school. YUM!

Not sure if I will make it to Milwaukee this year but whenever I get back we can have a C-D takeover of Zaffiro's.
