Fortunately clouds thinned enough here Monday afternoon to see the eclipse at times! I was worried I wouldn't be able to see anything.
This was near max coverage. Thunderstorm forming in the area around this time.
Nice!
Nice spring here so far. Early-blooming trees here like maple, birch, alder, and horse chestnut are either leafed out or well on their way. Later bloomers like oak, beech, and plane have not yet.

You're ahead of me! lol Spring lags so much around here. Magnolias, Cherrys, Lilac, and Pears are blossoming now. Nothing with leaves yet. Many with just buds
It's reaching 70s today so should get more to pop out there
Driving south along the Connecticut coast on April 16th, 2024. After the rains of winter,...these days when we have bursts to 75 F and and not a cloud in the sky pops things quick:
woa what a quick turnaround there! I think here in the counterpart region of lake district in Patagonia october/april use to look more dead in general, a level of lushness like in those pictures would be more typical of the next month.

Perhaps, but the Lake District of Patagonia is just jaw-droppingly beautiful. There are no words.
Went down to Oakville yesterday, last time before the house officially transfers ownership.
Rhodos by the lake were already starting to bloom.
Asian magnolias are in full bloom.
Azaleas too.
Cherries starting a bit (there were some that were already in full bloom but I didn't photograph those because they weren't very visible in people's backyards).
Alpine strawberries already starting to flower.
Clematis coming along nicely.
Winter was very mild - no die back on roses
Even the butterfly bush saw no die back in Oakville (they seem to have all died back to the ground here in Elora).
Back up in Elora, canopy trees still haven't leafed out, but the understory is greening up.
I saw a fox cub yesterday, it was too shy to come out of its den long enough to take a picture though.
Now I know why I've been seeing eagles so often this spring.
I was lucky to catch both the male and female in the nest together. They were a bit too far to get a good photo with my phone though, maybe I'll come back with a better camera. I think there's chicks in there too, I saw a smaller bird moving in the nest after one of the adults left, and it looked about half the size of the adults.
