It's not "Boston," but Bush sells a canned vegetarian baked bean. Again, way too much sugar, though.

Yes- many companies make and sell vegetarian beans. And you are right about too much sugar, like most prepared foods.



The title of this thread however specifically says "Boston Baked Beans", not Vegetarian Baked Beans, not even just Baked Beans. I made my comment for those people who read the thread and may not know that Boston Baked Beans customarily have salt pork or bacon in it.

Well, they're supposed to be sweet. That's what makes the dish unusual
(and challenging to pair with something, hence my question).
But an authentic version would be made with molasses rather than plain sugar, right?

The thing I'd be on the lookout for with canned food would be crazy amounts of salt.
