Our little town is always getting people moving here from out of state (mainly CA), and then they try to get people riled up with their town government talk. Thank goodness its always just a very few who try to force the issue. Knock on wood

nope. no one wants the place. its all old, like very old houses, woods, ex farm fields from like 50 years ago, and no industry. And that is fine by us. we have wells, septic, natural gas for at least 100 years and can survive on our own.

as the people die off and the kids dont want the place, they sell it to city slickers for cheap who go there 3 times a year - if that - fishing season opening day, 4th of july weekend, hunting season opening day. They soon tire of that and we buy up the property for a cupple hunnert an acre...

I've noticed in the obituaries that I don't recognize a lot of the names because they aren't from there. As you read the obits you see that the decedent graduated from Natrona Heights High School or some such and worked for some Pittsburgh area, usually, company.

You're right, they retire and buy a place up there in the Lumber Heritage Area, maybe live there full time for a bit but decide to make it a weekend house. Oh, and post all their property and then complain about there being too many deer.
