I'm not trying to come off as callous but why do you care so much? It's not a real relationship or friendship. The guy is 7 years your junior. If you're skinny and short I would imagine you'd have a pretty easy time finding a guy who is local to be your friend.
Find yourself a partner who wants to be with you. If he doesn't have the same feelings of affection and doesn't respond how you'd expect then it seems you two aren't a good match anyway.

Morbidly obese nerd that's texting all day every day, "demanding" selfies and not letting any time go by if she doesn't respond immediately under the guise of some manufactured worry when it's all a matter of control. Writing off his therapist's label that he's an abuser and playing victim. Posting the "no one will ever love me" in an attempt to get caregiving type gals to "save" him. She had health issues and he blew them off because it's all about him.
