We sold a house recently and I had always read that a seller should remove all family photos from the house before selling.
I had done that with my house before the agent came to go over the asking price but there was a small grouping of recognizable travel location photos in a guest bedroom. That grouping had a photo of me and our dogs in a beautiful setting. I had planned to pack those photos up but didn't have time before the agent arrived at the house.
He told me to leave all the photos up because things have changed and buyers now want a little insight into the people they are buying a home from. This was news to me and I really wasn't sure if I should take his advice but I did leave the photos up and we went to contract within three days of the house going on the market.
So, has anyone run into this new advice about buyers wanting to have some personal insight into the people whose home they might be buying?
In all seriousness, I did look up your latin quote. I do agree.
